3A's Happenings!
The year continues to be a busy one! We are moving along in our Community Ties Reading theme and will be enjoying the next two stories which are entitled Family Pictures and When Joe Louis Won the Title. Both stories express the importance of family and the communities around us.
Unit 3 in Math is upon us and the students will be focusing on measurement, perimeter, area, diameter, circumference and the collection, tabulation, and interpretation of experimental data! We will also be continuing to practice for the NJ ASK with open ended questions and will be using the show and tell strategy for solving problems.
Science and Social Studies will continue to alternate, but you may want to ask your child about the life cycle of plants. See if they know how many parts there are to a seed. They have been busy disecting lima beans and have a growing experiment in progress!
We have begun practicing for our holiday program and they already sound wonderful! I can't wait for the performance in December!
Thank you to all who donated healthy snacks for our Pig Out Party. The students really enjoyed all of the treats.
A special thank you also to our class moms who threw a great Halloween party! The kids had a blast making the Halloween pillowcases! Your thoughtfulness at including Joey and Jillian was also much appreciated!
I'm looking forward to continuing our fantastic year - Full steam ahead!!
