Remember: Start to work on the Karaoke by talking it up to your friends. Ask them what songs they would like to sing, and what desserts they like. Tell them about the prizes and that we can put it on the announcements. (Only if they want it though. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chorus In-Class Schedule Chorus 2007/8 All Independent study students (6A Lunch) please come to rehearsal by 12:15, (6B Lunch) please come to rehearsal by 1:00. Mondays - Full chorus Tuesdays - Boys Wednesdays - Full chorus Thursdays - Girls Fridays - Full chorus; Special Activities. Please check in before lunch to see what we are doing. This schedule will change as we approach a concert, at least two weeks before. We will have the full chorus every day as we have no more need for sectional rehearsals. At that point we will need to work on ensemble and our sound as a whole. Before/After school Schedule After school rehearsals are Tuesday before school (7:20) and Thursday after school (3:00). This may change as we approach a concert as well. We would add more rehearsal opportunities. Please remember that the music is on my school web-site along with the words so you can practice on your own. Behavioral Expectations Independent study students are expected to behave as they would in any other class. That is, you are expected to behave according to school rules. When you come in to class, please find your seat or join us in rehearsing. If we are not rehearsing your part at that time, just have a seat and stay relatively quite. Inappropriate behavior is unacceptable and will result in disciplinary action. High School Chorus Independent Study Agreement The student will abide by the following requirements as an independent study member of the High School Chorus: Requirements: • Attend a minimum of 2 rehearsals a week with more close to concert time. • Independently study your part to mastery • Show appropriate behavior at rehearsals and concerts • Commitment to rehearse and attend concerts, festivals and community events as needed. (If there is a valid reason you can’t attend, please inform me in advance. Concerts require a note from home). Events: 1. Home Coming game to sing the Star Bangled Banner 2. Winter and spring concerts 3. Graduation in June Field Trips: 1. December: sing at Ridgewood Ave. and for the Senior citizens at the HS 2. May: Dorney Park/Great Adventure for the competition • Keep in contact regarding any changes in your ability to be a part of chorus or make rehearsals, concerts etc. If you have another activity that temporarily requires more time, we can make arrangements, but I must know in advance • Fund raise for trips as needed (You may pay in full, but might but asked to help with bake sales, etc.) Rehearsal times: After school 3:00 to 3:30 – 3:45 Before school 7:20 to 7:50 During your lunch period, you will eat first then come to rehearsal. If you have first lunch 6A, please arrive at 12:15. If you have lunch 6B, please arrive at 1:00. Declaration of rehearsal times: (select two) After school ___ Before School ___ Lunch: days of week ______ ______ _____ We work hard to produce a quality sound and gain experience in singing and technique. Please remember, some students aspire to be professionals in music and need this experience to succeed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Date________________ Agreement: Student: I agree with the above policies and will commit to the Glen Ridge Choral Program. ______________________ Parent/s: I give permission to have my child participate as an independent member of the chorus with the above policies in effect. ______________________________
