Update

The forecast is not looking that bad, so based on the current forecast, we will meet at 8:15, as scheduled, in the Chorus room.
Update

This is a message about a field trip our HS trumpet players will be taking and the 7th & 8th Grade Trumpeters will have an opportunity to take on March 5th. During Block 7 and 8, the trumpeters will be going to a master class at the Congregational Church to help them prepare for a recital on March 7th at the church as well. We will be meeting with Thomas Verchot who will give techniques and rehearse the tunes we will be playing that Sunday. The recital is optional, but I would love for as many of our trumpet players to be involved as possible. i have the music and will be distributing it this week. I will get more details about the recital as it gets closer, but I believe it will be at
3:00
Sunday March 7th. Thanks!

A Message from GRMPA
We are watching the weather for Saturday very, very closely. At this point, it looks like we will not be receiving significant accumulation, and it will start Friday evening. Snow showers are expected to continue into Saturday, but it does not seem that we will be experiencing any type of blizzard conditions, which is good.
As those of you who have done this before know, the chorus room will be filled with hundreds of bags of fruit, and it absolutely must be delivered this weekend, so, as of now, we are proceeding as scheduled on Saturday morning. If we get dumped on during the night on Friday, we will delay the start of the delivery so that you can dig out and the roads can be cleared. Our tentative start time should this occur will be
10 AM
. Please check your e-mail that morning; I will send out the decision as soon as I get a handle on the forecast, which will be very early.
Again, we have 25 routes, so we should be able to get through this very quickly.
Thanks again for your participation. See you all on Saturday!

Attention 7th Grade Students, you will have a HW assignment due on Monday.
This should be a
TYPE WRITTEN paragraph that should state how you are going to accomplish our new class goal.
The goal is to have the four pieces of music we are currently working on close to performance ready by February 26th.
If the music is prepared properly and is at a level that is acceptable for a 7th grade ensemble, we will be bale to move ahead on some more complicated music.
If not, the 7th
graders will continue to focus on the four pieces we now have and will only perform those pieces in our May concert while the 8th graders will perform two more complicated pieces on their own.
Please let me know if there are any questions.

Greetings all and welcome to the 2009 7th & 8th Grade Concert Band! I have sent emails home to all 7th & 8th Grade Concert Band members.
This email list is very important to find out about events, HW, and other happenings in the band class. If you would like your email taken off this list or have another email address you would like to add to this list, please let me know and I will make sure to do so.
If you did not receive an email, please let me know and I will add you to the list.
If you have any questions throughout the year, please try to contact me through email. It is generally the easiest way to reach me. My voice mail extension is at the bottom as well. I do update it often. Anything posted on the voice mail, will also be on the web site and will generally be sent home in an email as well. Hope all have had a great start to the year.

Welcome Back!!!!
We have started another year.
Please check this website for information:
Click on the “Files” button.
The files in this section will include a weekly schedule updated, well, weekly, a lesson schedule and a schedule of groups for those lessons, and a ton of other information that will keep you informed about what is going on in the classroom.
Also, please keep my email available:
klagos@glenridge.org
The web site and email are the two biggest ways that I deal with communication throughout the year.
Thanks for your time and feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
I am looking forward to a great year.
Thanks!
Check out the links section for a Sophia's link. Sophia Anastasia is a local flute player that has come to our school in the past and spoke to our flute players with techniques that help them improve. Her website has concert schedules, music, and information for better musicianship. Thanks for checking it out!
Below you will find many helpful items such as a calendar with all student dates including outside performances by students and staff, a list of vocabulary words students will be required to know for exams (for real this year), web links to important (and not so important) sites involving music and other interesting information. If you have any dates you would like to be added to the calendar, please send an email to:
klagos@glenridge.org
I will add the dates to the calendar so all can see. Thanks for checking out the page, and check back often for updated information.
