 Beginner band meets every Friday morning at 7:45.

Jazz band rehearsals start Thursday January 28th for those accepted. (3PM to 3:50PM)

Advanced band players

Advanced band meets Mondays AND Wednesdays at 7:45 AM.  

BAND REQUIREMENTS

All 6th graders who have been in advanced band must have the Book 2 of the Standard of Excellence series. Please make sure all reed players are equipped with extra reeds, all brass players need valve oil and I highly recommend the appropriate cleaning supplies to keep instruments in good condition. 

All other students must have the Book 1 of Standard of Excellence. 

Students have a weekly practice log due at each and every lesson that needs to be signed by a parent/guardian. 

4th graders must play 60 minutes each week.

5th graders must play 80 minutes each week. 

6th graders must play 100 minutes each week. 

Students who continually do not meet their home practice requirements will have to make-up practice time during recess or after school.

Practice sheets are due at each and every lesson. Practice sheets need to be signed by a parent or guardian and total minutes of practice recorded each week. Need a sheet? Download under files.  
 
All 6th grade advanced band members need to have Book 2 of "Standard of Excellence" for their instrument. Available at Montclair Music or Victor's.
