Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

Here we are entering the milestone of celebrating our fifth year in our magnficent school.

 

As you know we will open our doors to welcome students on Thursday, September 3rd.  If you did not receive our summer mailing which included your child's schedule, please contact us. 

 

On the first day at AW we do not run the traditional 40 minute 9 period day bell schedule.  After students start out in homeroom, the entire student body will assemble in the gym where we will have our 5 year celebration kick-off assembly.  Students will enjoy viewing photos from our opening year and hearing about what will unfold throughout the year for our 5 year celebration.    Students will then spend time getting to know each other and their teachers with special team activities and complete routine homeroom housekeeping activities. There will also be a grade level assembly with our Guidance Team.   After enjoying the special lunch donated to us through the efforts of our PTO and generosity of the Outback, students will walk through their 9 period schedule spending about 8 minutes in each of their  classes.

 

Please be reminded that our Back to School Night is scheduled for Wednesday Sepetmber 16th at 7:00 pm.  Prior to classroom visitiations, our PTO is providing a 5 year celebration cake at 6:30 in the Cafetorium - would love to see you there.

 

Please know that there are a series of "Parent Coffees" in October which offer parents the opporutnity to find out first hand from me what is happening at our school and provide you with the opportunity to have your questions answered.   These gatherings with the principal are held at 9:30 am in the cafetorium on Thursdays as follows: 

                     October 8 - 6th grade;    October - 15 - 7th grade;   October 29 - 8th grade

                              

I am confident that we will experience a wonderful year as we celebrate our landmark 5th year in our superb school !
