Dear students and parents,
Welcome Back!!! I hope you have had a great vacation and are well rested. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know each and everyone of you. The year ahead will be a very productive and successful one. It will be a year filled with excitement, fun, and many challenges. We will not only study social studies, but we will Do social studies.
Social Studies is a way for you to not only study the past, but a way for you to understand the present and create a greater and better future. Social Studies opens the doors for you to meet people and see things from all over the world without ever having to leave the classroom. As historians and humanitarians we will study our past in hope to understand our present and create a better tomorrow for all of us. It is my hope that in so doing, you will become independent and thoughtful thinkers as well as willing participants in our democratic society.
