HOUSTON...We have a Lift Off! 

 On Thursday, June 11 at 2:00 there will be a Press Conference at the Heckman Space Center.

Astronauts from the MISSION POSSIBLE:  Galaxy Quest 2009 Project will be there to share their discoveries about the different planets and the asteroid belt of our solar system.  All interested parties are invited to this once in a lifetime experience!

       Dear Class,

 It has been a great year in ROOM 29. 

We have had many "Adventures in Learning"

which is always my goal.

From writing crazy stories to writing checks and from making adobe bricks to making control panels, we have had a variety of experiences in learning.  Some have worked out great!  Some...not so great!  But each activity was an adventure that we shared together. 

I know you will do wonderful things in the fututre if you continue to explore and take chances in learning!

It has been my pleasure to have been your teacher and guide throughout this year!  Have a great summer and

I'll see you all next fall!

Contacting me :  The fastest way to contact me is through email.   Heckmdaw@ssd.k12.pa.us   If your message is time-sensitive (ex: please have my child pick up his brother’s homework), and you don’t get a response from me within 2 hours, you should call the office and have them send a note to the room. Last minute emails may not be picked up until after 4:00 due to staff meetings, team meetings, etc.  Substitutes do not have access to my email and would miss an important message.

       While sitting at tables or sprawled on the floor.

       We’re thinking, exploring, and wondering, too

       With so many things to say and to do.

M arking each moment with questions to ask

         Tramping through thoughts and feelings and facts.

        Climbing the mountain of science with zest

       Sifting through stories to choose what is best.

P erched on the edge, getting ready to fly

       On wings of wonder in a crystal blue sky.

        Searching for words like treasures in a cave

       Each bit of knowledge to hold and to save.
