Trip slips and money are due - February 13, 2009
Dear Parents, Boy, and Girls,
Last year we had the opportunity to organize a trip focusing on a day of skiing and tubing at big Boulder Mountain in the Pocono Mountains. this trip proved to be one of teh most outstanding trips for the children. Wile some may feel that it is not an academic trip, this trip reaches far beyond the classroom. For children to be well rounded in their learning one of teh most significant lessons a child can learn is that some things may be difficult at first, but if we persevere we can reach a goal that seems unattainable. It was amazing to watch children literally conquer the mountain. Some who stood at the bottom of the hill, thought that there was no way they would ever be able to make it down. However, by the end of the day, those same children had made it down the mountain and gained a sense of confidence and pride in their accomplishments. What a valuable lesson.
This year we are planning an "unofficial" field trip to Big Boulder Ski area on Sunday, ( march 1, 2009) Since this is not a school day, trasportation will not be provided and we will meet in the lodge at about 8:00 to distribute lisft tickets, rental information , and help the children master the mountain.
Students and their parents ( and alumni...of course) will be able to choose skiiing, snow boarding, or even tubing. Lessons by certified instructors, equipment rentals ,and lift tickets will all be included in the price of the package deal. For any further information please see the packet of information that was distributed in class, or pick up an extra packet in the main offfice at Sabold.
See you on the slopes...
Mr. Brunner :)
** Please note that the information for the 4th grade trip to Washington, DC has gone out. If you are in need of an additional information sheet or permission slip..please let us know and we will send another one home. All slips and money are due on or before March 4th.

Our new program called Kidbiz3000 has been a HUGE success in the past!!! The children will be given ID. numbers, e-mail accounts, and passwords to log into the program. There are MANY great activities to work on to build comprehension skills! Please have the children work on the program 2- 3 times a week at home. I will check the results and give extra credit for those children who work on the program 2-3 times a week and who are doing well on the comprehension questions. Enjoy! The children and I really love the program! We will continue to work on the program in school several times a week. I really feel this is a wonderful program and have seen the children impove so much! Thank you for all of your support!!

Dates to think about:
Calendar of Events ( A Year at a Glance )
Please note that Sabold Read Aloud Day is the first Friday of each month
PLEASE CHECK THE CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR EXACT DATES. THIS CALENDAR IS DISTRIBUTED THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASS AND AT BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT!
Please note: These dates are subject to change. Please see your child's homework book for daily updates and all homework assignments.
It is my hope that we help the children become independent learners who love and want to learn. The children will copy down their assignment and all homework in their "planner" each day. Please check the "planner" each day and sign the planner when the homework has been completed. Thank you so much for all your help and support. We are looking forward to a gr-8 year!
