The Student Assistance Team:
is...a team of adults from SHS and three community agencies that identify and intervene with students to help eliminate the barriers to school success.
is...CONFIDENTIAL! The student and referral source identity are protected.
helps by...providing a struggling student with support for positive change, assisting families in identifying other sources of support, working with students to identify options and make positive choices.
CONSIDER REFERRING A STUDENT IF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING IS PRESENT:
- feelings of despair/hopelessness
- significant changes in sleep patterns
- defiance of school and parental rules
- alcohol and/or drug use or experimentation
- self-harmful behaviors
- frequent absence from school
- change in eating patterns
- noticeable drop in grades
REFERRALS CAN BE MADE BY PARENTS, TEACHERS, STUDENTS AND STAFF AND CAN BE ANONYMOUS.
To refer a student to STAT, please include:
The student's name, grade, and your reason for concern.
