Read about what we are doing in Art Class!
This year, 2007-2008, the art department will continue working on connecting art to literacy and revising our middle school art curriculum.
Students will continue to create exciting art projects that strengthen critical thinking skills and student creativity.
Students will continue to use the computers in the art room to assist them in creating art and to research and write about art. Eighth graders will be introduced to the basics of Adobe Photoshop CS.
Your student will need to bring a pencil and their planner to art class everyday.
There is no homework but students may earn extra credit points by bringing in sketches or artwork from home.
Students get grades for projects completed in class and they get a class participation grade.
Please check your student’s Gradebook page on the internet to see their grade for art class.
All students will create a simple art folder to keep their materials organized for the one semester that they are in art class.

Our Art Room

Mr Chinnici's project over the summer was writing 225 captions for a photographic history book on the town of Tyrone, Pennsylvania. Tyrone is located right next to State College, PA and there are photos in the book of that college town. The book was available ofFebruary 4, 2008 and here is a picture of the cover and back of the book:

Mr. Chinnici has published articles on Philadelphia antique lighting and the use of local King of Prussia marble on antique furniture. The links below will take you to reviews and articles he has written for the Chipstone Foundation, Antiques Magazine and Sotheby's auction catalogs.
