Drugs ... alcohol ... the choking game.  Every parent is concerned that their child could become involved in a risky activity.  As a parent, how do you know, and what do you do?  Learn strategies to talk to your kids about risk behaviors, identify problems early on, and respond.

Speaker: David Moran, LCSW is director of Crozer Chester's Recovery Center.  A licensed clinical social worker, certified addiction counselor and certified co-occurring disorders professional, he has 13 years of experience in behavioral health working with adolescents and adults.

Your child comes home crying again: a classmate is spreading rumors or picking fights.  Learn practical strategies to deal with bullying and your middle-school child.  Understand the types of bullying, both overt (physical and verbal) and subtle (spreading gossip and rumors).  Learn how to talk to your child about bullying if he or she has been a victim.  Gain strategies to respond effectively and enlist the support of school district personnel.

Speaker: Stephen S Leff, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of clinical psychology in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania.  As a psychologist, he specializes in aggression and the promotion of social skills in children.  Dr. Leff is a frequent speaker on the topic of bullying.

A School sports injury - football, soccer, cheerleading, or any other intramural or extramural sport - can sideline your teen.  Learn what you can do to help your favorite player get in good condition for the game and prevent sports injuries.

Speaker: Brian Shiple, D.O. is the Crozer-Keystone Health System's division chief of sports medicine, director of the sports medicine fellowship program, and medical director of Crozer-Keystone's Healthplex R Sports Club.  Board-certified in sports medicine, Dr. Shiple is a team physician for several Delaware County middle schools and high schools.  He is the medical director of the Pennsylvania Keystone State Games, the Phila. Triathlon in Fairmont Park and the PA Senior Games.  He also has served as a Volunteer team Physician for the Unites States Olympic Committee in Colorado Spring, CO.  Dr. Shiple was voted as on of Phila.'s "Top Docs" in the field of Sports Medicine.

Speakers: Karen J. Clark is an associate/outreach coordinator.

Wanda A. Springfield is a family development specialist with the Delaware County Intermediate (DCIU) Unit's Family Centers.  The DCIU is a regional education services agency providing leadership for the development of innovative and cost-effective programs to meet the needs of Delaware County.  DCIU serves school-aged students, educators and parents with direct instruction, career and technical education, and specialized programs, including parenting educations workshops.
