Our Favorite Snack
Dear Parents,
In Room 27 we have been working extremely hard on persuasive writing.
I have decided to make this an extra special writing assignment by picking the most persuasive writing piece.
The student who persuades me the most will have their snack provided for the whole class by me.
We are in the editing phase of the writing process.
The final phase, which is publishing, along with the editing process will take place at home.
Along with the writing piece, your child will have to read their writing piece in front of the whole class.
Here are some very important guidelines to follow:
·
Make sure you edit your letter with an adult. Parents can only assist with spelling and punctuation to make this fair.
·
Make sure your writing piece makes sense and is organized well.
·
Copy your writing in your best handwriting on the lined sheet of paper provided.
·
This letter will be graded on content, organization, focus, and style.
You will also be graded on your speech!
I am looking for good eye contact, loud speaking voices, and reading clearly with expression.
·
Practice, practice, practice.
The tentative date for the speeches will take place on
Thursday, June 12, 2008
at
10:30 a.m.
Parents are allowed to attend the speeches if you are able to.
I thought this will be a fun way to wrap up the year.
The snacks will be provided on
Friday, June 13, 2008
.
Educationally Yours,
Miss Ford-Bey
