Evening of the Arts  2008  May 15th

Kindergarden:  Getting to know you by singing your name, favorite color, favorite number, favorite activity.  Walk forward, backward, hop, skip, gallop, tip-toe to the beat!  We are singing and dancing and starting to feel comfortable with music. Echo clapping and singing.

1st Grade:  Carnival of the Animals by Camile Saint-Saens is part of our study! 

2nd Grade: Folk dancing, singing and learning about rhythms is our focus until the end of the year.

3rd. Grade:  Hear the sweet sounds of the recorders?  By now most 3rd graders have been successful learning 6 notes on the recorder.  Stop by and check out our recorder hands at The Evening of the Arts.

4th Grade:  Square Dancing and Morris Sword Dancing has been our focus.

5th Grade:  We Has Jazz and More!  Our last unit was the study of Jazz and the famous players of  Ragtime, BeBop, Dixieland, Soul, Rock-a-Billy and Rock and Roll.  We had a very successful concert at The Evening of the Arts this month.  We are now preparing for our promotion song.
