In this course students will be learning spreadsheet skills. They will be able to apply spreadsheet graphs into Microsoft Word as well as create simple formulas. The second part of this course covers database skills using Microsoft Access. Students learn how to create and modify a database and learn to apply search filters to their work.
At the end of the course students complete a research project that incorporates Microsoft Excel and Word together. Students research different restaurants and compare meals, which they typically eat when they visit them.
Calories and total fat are compared between restaurants to see what restaurant is the healthiest. The students then turn in a report incorporating graphs and charts based on their findings.
