English Homework--Spelling and Vocabulary Book--An entire unit is due each week unless it is a short week. The homework pattern is the same from now until June.  If there is a change, I will initial the agenda. 1.  Monday night--words  one to ten three times each in the spiral notebook.    Definition once (dicitonary in back of book). 2.  Tuesday night--words one to ten three times each in the spiral notebook.   Definition once. 3.  Wednesday night--one sentence for each work to be written in the spiral notebook. 4.  Thursday--the entire unit is due. 5.  Friday--spelling test, vocabulary test, sentence test

Calendar of Events:             Week of June 1, 2009  English       1.  No spelling this week. 2.  We are reading a new novel--The Pinballs.  We are doing some different activities using this book.  One activity is called Literature Circle.  Please ask your student about the lesson they are teaching. Communications 1. We are still working on verbs and continue identifying the parts of speech that we have already learned.  There will be a grammar test on Thursday, June 4. 2.  We are also continuing to work on reading and writing strategies.  The story we are reading now is called "The Phoenix".
