This is a family picture of me and my two daughters:

Deanna Victoria who is 1 1/2 year's old and Katie Lucille who is 3 1/2 years old. 

     This is my 12th year teaching, 8th year teaching kindergarten.  I previously worked at Barge-Lincoln for 6 years in a Dual Language kindergarten classroom, 1 year at Wilson Middle School and 3 years as a migrant/bilingual/ESL teacher in Hermiston, Oregon.  I love working at McClure Elementary School and living in Yakima!  This school has an atmosphere that is welcoming and inviting to all teachers, staff, parents and students.  I believe in bilingual education and believe that ALL people should learn at least two languages.  My two daughters go to a babysitter five days a week where they are cared for and taught in Spanish only.  They will be raised bilingual and go through the dual language classrooms in the district.

Fundraising for our class field trip in June to Seattle! 

We will give you more details soon!  We are going to sell from "Uncle Jerry's Tee's" company.  We need to raise money throughout the year, in order to pay for the busses and include an extra bus for all of our wonderful parent volunteers that will come with us.  Please watch for information.  We would like all of our students to try and sell at least two things and MORE if you can!  We do NOT encourage our students to go door to door with any items that we sell.  Please only sell to your family and friends.  Parents may take items to work and try to sell also.  See your child's teacher for more details.

See the links below:  I am uploading some great fluency practice for your child in English and Spanish reading, as well as math.  The first practice is to see if your child can read the words accurately.  Once they can read all the words accurately, then work on fluency.  Read each passage or section one time in one minute.  Then see if you can read it again faster.  Keep practicing!  :)Please also click on the homework link to see what your child needs to know about homework this year.  :)
