DON’T FORGET! NO SCHOOL
TOMORROW!
Reading:
This week we read, Here Are My Hands, and How Do You Feel? We discussed the five senses and the
parts of the body that help us with each sense. We also sang the song Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. We’ve also been working on our rhyming
skills, and recognizing the beginning sounds of words. These are good skills to practice and
you can work on them anywhere.
Math:
We continue to practice writing the numbers 0 – 10. We also met the Blue color monster, and
Ricky Rectangle.
Literacy Activities: We matched capital and lower case letters on our Apple Tree,
made a project for Old Mother Hubbard, matched pattern blocks and learned their
names. We also matched numbers and
objects, wrote a book about what we like to eat, and counted markers in the
counting jar.
We began our volunteers this week and the
children are so excited! A special
thanks to Mrs. Cumbaa, Mrs. Fausett, Mrs. Conley, Mrs. Strittmatter, Mrs. Finch
and Mrs. Walker. They will be
working with your children on an individual basis each week and the help they
give me is so appreciated. The
children have not met everyone yet, due to our shortened week and an illness,
but we are looking forward to much fun and laughter with our new friends.
We did not cook with our friends in Mrs.
Scrimo’s room this week since we did not have school on Friday, but we learned
a lot about Johnny Appleseed. His
birthday will be on the 26th.
All in all it’s been a busy week filled with
learning and fun. Keep me posted
on any changes at home that might affect your child or his/her performance here
at school. Have a great weekend!
