Fall has arrived! The air is getting cooler and the leaves will soon be beautiful colors! Fall is my favorite time of year. We are in full swing in the classroom. We are working hard on mastering our goals.    
      Halloween is fast approaching. The students are excited about dressing up and eating their treats. Remember that costumes must not cover the face and must be school appropriate. The students will be with their regular classroom for the festivities.
  Classroom Happenings

 
                We are working on decoding strategies and comprehension in reading. Ask your student about what they are reading in the room. It is also important to practice our writing skills, just a few minutes a night at home practicing letters would help to make handwriting m ore legible. In math, we have started multiplication. Please work on 0,1,2,& 5's.    
D.I.R.T. and W.O.R.M. have begun. This is a mandatory activity with all the students in the school participating.   Please encourage your child to   practice their math   facts and read something each day!    
              Parents, please discuss with your child what happened during the day, you might be surprised what they tell you!!!
     

    Reading Books      
  Your child will have available to him or her appropriate level books which they can read at night. Please encourage reading, practice is the only way to get better at it.
