Dear Parents and Students,

Greetings from Fifth Grade! 

Our class is working very hard in Language Arts!  The students are reading and writing everyday.

In Reading, we are learning about main idea and analogies.  We are also reading "Mr. Poppers Penguins". 

In Writing, we are learning how to write stories to develop vocabulary.  The students are expanding their vocabulary through reading and writing each day!

In Spelling, we are utilizing the Sitton Spelling approach to spelling.  Please review your own child's individual spelling list on a regular basis.   This list has words that your child has missed on the word test.   They also have core words and 5th grade level spelling words that they are expected to learn.

As you can see, we are very busy!!!!

Please check your child's supplies throughout the year to make sure they have the tools they need to help them succeed.
