The Spring Hill 7th & 8th Grade Bands rehearse daily. Students should have their instruments, music (including book) and a pencil each day! The instruments and music should go home every weekend. Please bring a note from home if you have a second instrument you could practice at home and leave the other instrument at school. They should be the same or very similar instrument (i.e.- leave school bass clarinet at school and practice student-owned clarinet at home). We will try to provide two instruments for the large size instruments (i.e. one tuba for home and one tuba for school).

SEE THE LINKS BELOW FOR FURTHER STUDY ON VARIOUS TOPICS.

Fifth & Sixth grade band members should practice a minimum of 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week! This is 100 minutes per week.  This will help the student progress at a good rate and continue to improve week to week. Make practice time a part of your nightly routine. Think of practice time as band "homework." Home practice is extremely important and is directly connected to a student's successful participation in band!
