Students are taking the weather test on Wednesday November 4.   I passed out a study guide on Monday breaking it down into the multiple choice and extended response questions. This topic is covered in chapters 15 & 16 in the Earth Science Text they were issued to take home.   More information on the topic can be downloaded from the Power Point we are using in class. You can download it from file #1 below.    
 
Our new unit is plate tectonics.   We have begun developing some key terms by studying the Enchanted Learning link below on Plate Tectonics.    
 
Students are now presenting their Biome Power Points to their class mates.   Some of them are really cool! 
 
Attention Potential Ski & Snowboard Club Members: 
The Spring Hill Ski Club will be going to the Brandywine Ski Resort on Sunday evenings.   We will meet in the High School parking lot at 3:15 PM, and will return to the High School parking lot at 9:30 PM.   Students will be taking a school bus to the ski area.   Room on the bus is limited to 45 students.   These seats are reserved for the first 45 students to pay (see fees below for payment info). 
 
Fees:    
Students must pay a nonrefundable $30.00 transportation fee to Mr. Fleming in cash only.  
 
Next students need to determine if they want to invest in their own equipment or rent equipment.   Only professional grade equipment may be used at the ski area!  
 
Students who own their own equipment will need to have a check written to the Boston Mills Ski Resort for the amount of $127.00. Students who rent equipment will need to have a check written to the Boston Mills Ski Resort for the amount of $178.12.   Once a student has paid his/her nonrefundable $30.00 transportation fee and written a check to the Boston Mills Ski Resort he/she will be a member of the club. Please give all checks and cash to Mr. Fleming and receive a receipt. 
 
Paper work:   Students must completely fill out the Boston Mills/Brandywine forms in the School Club Program brochure that explains every detail of the club’s benefits and regulations.   Parents and students are encouraged to thoroughly read this brochure together.   Parents must also fill out a current Springfield Emergency Medical form in order to ride the bus.

4.          Sunday January 24 
5.          Sunday January 31 
Schedule B (If the resort does not open by Jan. 3): 
1.          Sunday January 10 
2.          Sunday January 17 
3.          Sunday January 24 
4.          Sunday January 31 
5.          Sunday February 7 
After the fifth outing students will be able to use their Sunday passes for the remainder of the season but no transportation will be provided.   Parents should also understand the club advisors may not be at the ski area from that point forward.
