This school year is going by very quickly! 
 
Book-It is almost over.   This is the last month.   So far eveyone has met all of the individual goals. Hopefully that continues this month, so everyone can still be part of the pizza party in April.   Please read with your child.   It is a great way to spend time together.   I would like everyone in the class to learn to enjoy reading! 
 
We have one student in the Principal’s Math Club.   YEAH!   5th graders have 5 minutes.   6th graders have 4 minutes.   Once a month, the whole school takes all 4 tests.   If a student gets 100% on all 4 tests (taken on school-wide Principal’s Math Club days), then he/she gets a dog tag and he/she gets to participate in a special activity at the end of the school year. Everyone in the class keeps improving.   I look forward to continuing to watch the students’ scores go up! Also in math, we are working on geometry and measurement.  
 
In Science, we are participating in a Polymer Science experience with The University of Akron.   In Social Studies, we are working on different countries and research. 
 
If your child tends to get hungry between meals on school days, he is welcome to bring in a healthy snack to have half way through the morning or afternoon. 
 
Sometimes accidents happen.   If you can, please send in an extra change of clothes for your child just in case he spills something or gets dirty.   Your child can keep this outfit in his locker in case it is needed.
