Policies and Procedures for Ms.Berlo's Class: Earth Science + English 11/12 Room 201 2007-2008 You will need: Three ring binder, composition book, and pen (blue or black), pencil. Hall Passes: You may use up to 3 passes per grading period, but they have to be an emergencies only. Grading: Participation is 1/3, attendance counts! No credit for participation can be given for days not in class for any reason.
Assignments/Notebook is 1/3. In class and homework assignments will be
collected for grades. Notebooks will also be collected and graded
periodically. If you are absent, it is your responsibiity to get
missed assignments and any notes copied into your notebook. Late
assignments will have the grade lowered by 10%for each day late. Most Assignments Can Be Corrected Once For A Higher Grade!
Tests and quizzes 1/3 of your grade in my class, Several quizzes and tests will be administered
during the year. You will be able to use your notes on the midterm
and final exams so keep your notebook up-to-date!

GIVEN FOR ASSIGNMENTS OR TESTS/QUIZZES MISSED DUE TO AN UNEXCUSED
ABSENCE OR MISSED DUE TO SLEEPING/OFF TASK BEHAVIOR DURING CLASS!!
TO PASS FOR THE SEMESTER, YOU MUST HAVE A PASSING GRADE ON AT LEAST 2 OF THE 3 GRADES AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER (TWO NINE WEEK AND ONE SEMESTER EXAM = 3 GRADES)

POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES For breaking school/classroom rules include: Verbal warning loss of privileges change of seating or location writing assignment call to parent detention office involvement, etc. Tardies: You
must be in your assigned seat with necessary materials, ready to work,
when the bell rings or you are tardy. Beginning with your third in a
grading period, you will be assigned an after school detention.
