Biology Honors Course Description
This course is designed for students who understand the scientific method and are able to conduct experiments and complete projects in cooperative groups. There will be an emphasis on higher order thinking skills. Units of study will include ecology, cellular processes, genetics and animal anatomy and physiology. The history of life on Earth and classifying organisms will also be studied.
Biology Weekly Updates
Week of 9/28 - Study Chapters 3 and 4
Week of 10/5 - Island Project done in class and Study chapter 5
Week of 10/12 - Unit II Test
Week of 10/19 - Organic Molecules Foldable will be started Tuesday with one column completed each day. No School on Wednesday. Grade reports will be printed and given to students by Friday.
Week of 10/26 - Finish Organic Molecule unit and test
Week of 11/2 - Start Cell Unit
Week of 11/9 - Students will work on a Cell Organelle packet in class and for homework
Week of 11/16 - Students will complete a cell lab and quiz over organelles
Week of 11/23 - Students will complete a lab on cell transport
Week of 11/30 - Students will test over the Cell on Tuesday the 1st and will start the photosynthesis unit
Week of 12/7 - students will finish photosynthesis and test on it

Week of 10/19 - Dissection of the Clam, Study Arthropoda Grade report sheets will be printed and given to students by Friday.
Week of 10/26 - Dissection of the grasshopper and crayfish
Week of 11/9 - Study Echinodermata and dissection of the starfish
Week of 11/16 - Students will test over Invertebrates and start the vertebrate unit
Week of 11/23 - Students will dissect the perch
Week of 11/30 - Students will study the Amphibians and Reptiles
Week of 12/7 - Students will study mammals and dissect the pig
