Welcome to Mrs. Corcoran's Class web page!  We are learning how to read in Guided Reading groups.  The children read with the teacher in small groups.  In math, we are learning how to add numbers.  In Science, we are learning about animals.  In Social Studies, we are learning about getting along with others.  We are continuing to learn about the Character Education words.  April's word of the month is service.  This means offering to help others.  All of the students are working hard and doing a great job!

Your child must wear tennis shoes on Mondays and Thursdays.  Your child must return library books on Tuesdays.

Birthdays

Birthdays are celebrated in our classroom.  Birthday treats are optional.  If you decide to participate, be sure that you send store-bought, individually wrapped treats for all 22 students.

Discipline

The approach taken toward classroom discipline is very positive.  Students are encouraged to feel good about themselves and their accomplishments.  The children are encouraged to challenge themselves to do their best each day.  If your child exhibits behavior conflicts with the rules/expectations, we will try to solve the problem together.  If the behavior continues to disrupt our learning environment, a parent conflict will be made to create a plan to help the child.
