Spring is just around the corner!!!!   MOST of the children know all the kindergarten sight words and many have been given 1st grade words to practice at home.  Please continue to practicing all these words with your child.  We will have our sight word POP party this week.  The kids have really been looking forward to popping the sight word balloons.

The children in room 23 are great readers.   Almost everyone is reading at or above grade level.  Please ask your child to read the paper books they bring home to YOU, sign it, and return it to school.   

You will find new PowerPoint presentations in the files section and updated flash cards in the flashcards section of this web page.  Please visit these sections with your child.  It is a great way to reinforce skills we are learning.  

     During our study of weather the children will learn about wind, clouds and the water cycle. The kindergarten children will work with their 1st grade buddies to make and fly a kite. 

I am asking parents to help your child make a leprechaun trap and bring it to school March 16.  Maybe this year we can catch Larry the Leprechaun

and get his gold.   

The children are still working on addition so now is the time to visit the addition flash cards in the flashcards section. 

Some children still do not know their address and telephone number, please practice these at home with your child. 

A few children still need to learn to tie shoes.  Please work on this skill at home.
