BOOK CLUB INFORMATION

We have book clubs for the following grades:  grades 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8.  Meetings vary but most clubs meet every two weeks.  It is best to check here for information because sometimes meetings are changed and rescheduled at the last minute.  Book clubs meet in the library during lunch and recess.  It is an informal gathering to discuss books and share some insights on good "reads."  Membership is always open!  Just let Mrs. Dunlavey know you are interested in joining and I will let you know about our current book.

Grade 3:  Our next book is:  RUNAWAY RALPH by Beverly Cleary ; Meeting date to be determined
Grade 4:  Our next book is: THE BORROWERS by Mary Norton ; Meeting date to be determined
Grade 6:  Our next book is:  CATCHING FIRE by Suzanne Collins ; Meeting date to be determined
Grade 7:  Our next book is:  CATCHING FIRE by Suzanne Collines ; Meeting date to be determined
Grade 8:  Our next book is: THE HELP by Kathryn Stockett ; Meeting date:  April 27th, after school in the library

CHESS AND SCRABBLE
,
Students in grades 6,7,and 8 may drop into the library on Mondays during lunch and recess to play chess and/or scrabble.  We are hoping to organize a chess team and a scrabble team to compete with other elementary schools for the 2012-2013 school year.  If you are interested, please contact me by email.

DONATIONS

The library is in desperate need of stuffed animals, beanbags, bookcases, and of course--BOOKS!  We gladly accept any donations you would like to make.  If you donate books that the library doesn't need, we in turn, donate them to the parish rummage sale or to the Wheaton Library used book sale.  You may bring donated items any time the school is open.  Thank you for your generosity!
