Welcome to Kindergarten!
Dear Parents,
I am honored to have your child in my class this year. I have many exciting activities and experience planned for your child and their classmates for this school year. I’m excited to meet the families I will be working with in the 2010-2011 school year. I'm looking forward to meeting you all at OPEN HOUSE on September 1st 6:30 - 8:00
Please keep a change of clothes in your child’s back pack in case of an accident.
Reminder:Girls should wear shorts under their jumpers/skirts.
Please be sure your child goes directly to the gym when they arrive in the morning.
Please help us to ensure your child’s success by attending school daily and by being on time!
First Class Breakfast is served in the classroom at 7:45 AM!
Please remember to fill out and return all required forms from the first day package that you received.
Don’t forget to check your child’s blue folder (communication folder) daily and go over their work and expectation chart.
Please place any important notes or papers in your child’s communication folder. Your child’s teacher will open their folder daily but will not be able to check in backpacks for notes or papers.
Students can achieve success by following the school-wide SWIM To Success In The Classroom Program.
S afe Behavior:
Keep hands, feet, and objects to self.
Stay in your assigned area.
Use materials appropriately.
Well Prepared:
Bring Homework and required materials to class.
Follow classroom routines.
Incredibly Respectful:
Listen politely, raise your hand and wait to be called on.
Use polite and kind words
Follow directions the first time.
Make Responsible Choices:
Accept consequences without arguing or complaining.
Do your best.
Tell the teacher if you have a problem you can't solve.
**We will use a color coded conduct chart in our classroom. Conduct will be recorded in the student agenda using color coded marks. Each student will begin each day on green. **
An explanation of the color follows:
♦ Green—an excellent day
♦ Yellow—one or two violations of the rules, behavior corrected: a good day
♦ Orange—continued violation of rules after warnings - Agenda must be signed.
♦ Red – severe or numerous disruptions - Agenda must be signed, and parent will be contacted.
