Welcome to Mrs. Luszcz's Classpage!!!
Information is updated weekly. Please email me if you have any questions or would like to set up a conference.

Our Class Promise:

We promise to respect each other and the rules.

We promise to respect each others property.

When we keep our promises we will have a lot of fun!

Classroom Objectives:
I can or will be able to:

subtract two digit numbers using models and strategies
read and write using high frequency words and new vocabulary, with a focus on Tall Tales

explore ways objects in the sky change in cycles
explain how people satisfy their basic needs within their environment

Homework:

Monday through Thursday night, your child will get a reading homework page and a math homework page.  Spelling words and the pretest will go home on Monday- these are to study at your childs best method.  Vocabulary words will be worked on all week, this list will also go home each Monday.

Each night your child should read at least 30 minutes either by themselves, to you, or with you.  Also spelling words and basic math facts should be practiced to improve fluency.  You will receive papers Monday-Thursday that cover both a math and a reading concept to be turned in the next day.

Conduct

The Students Can SWIM To Success In The Classroom By Following some really important Rules:

Safe Behavior:

Keep hands, feet, and objects to self.

Stay in your assigned area.

Use materials appropriately.

Well Prepared:

Bring Homework and materials needed to class.

Follow classroom routines.

Incredibly Respectful:

Listen politely, raise your hand and wait to be called on.

Use polite and kind words

Follow directions the first time.

Make Responsible Choices:

Accept consequences without arguing or complaining.

Do your best.

Tell the teacher if you have a problem you can't solve.

Your child's conduct will be stamped in their agenda each day.  In order to make the system more educational your child has the opportunity to earn 25 cents (not real money- it will be stamped in) every day.  When your child earns one dollar they will be able to go to the prize box or pick out a classroom coupon.  This is also an attendance incentive, if your child is not at school they cannot earn their conduct for that day.  Any rule that is broken will be noted in the agenda so that the classroom expectations can be reinforced at home.

25 cents = Excellent conduct  20 cents = Satisfactory conduct 10 cents = Poor conduct 0 cents = Unsatisfactory conduct

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN YOUR CHILD'S AGENDA EVERY NIGHT
