School Hours: Monday - Thursday :7:35 am - 3:05 pm (Instruction begins ON TIME daily).

Breakfast: Breakfast is free for all students and available from 7:00am to 7:30am
Lunch: $1.60 per meal and can be prepaid. Free or reduced meals (40 cents) are available to qualified students. Adults may eat with their child after September 8th.

Homework:
Read 20 minutes daily.
Practice math facts 10 minutes daily.
Check the agenda sent home daily for additional assignments such as writing/spelling and more math.
Rules:

Listen and follow directions.

Raise your hand and wait to speak.

Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
-
Use appropriate school language and manners.
-
Show respect for teachers, classmates and property.
-
Always walk!
Rewards: Good behavior is encouraged through a variety of rewards (praise, stickers, happy notes, extra center time/free time, pick from treat box, trip to 1st Grade store).
Consequences: Inappropriate choices will include a warning, time out, loss of special privileges, parent contact or involvement by the principal.
Blue Folders/Agendas:
Blue Folders are sent home each afternoon and contain the homework. These are to be sent back each morning with the homework.
Agendas are also sent home daily and contain the daily assingments, conduct and other pertinent information. The pocket in the front of the Agenda is used for Parent/Teacher communication.

Conduct Grades:

E-Excellent Day!
-
S-one or two violations of the rules with behavior corrected--a good day.
-
P or U-after warnings, two or three violations of the rules--the behavior needs to stop. Parents will be notified and the agenda must be signed.
Wednesday Envelopes: (Please Read the Following Carefully)
Important notices and information are sent home by Ashford Primary, HISD as well as all graded papers. The Wednesday envelope is the place to look for this information. Please sign the outside of the envelope and return the envelope along with any signed forms as requested the following day.
