My vision of my role in Ashford's Primary Center is the architect of "The Bridge Class" of the 21st century. I see my class as a "bridge" that would connect the programs in my special education to the programs in the regular education classes.
The focus of this unique setting would emphasize a continuum of evaluation, remediation, and assessment, while laying a firm foundation for these students by setting high expectations and building self-esteem.
I envision this innovative program as one in which the students would have the best of both worlds. Their environment would be one of nurturing and motivation. They would have a teacher who is experienced in both special and elementary education. This dual experience enables me to resolve a minor problem before it becomes a major one.
