Week of 11/16/09
6th Grade:
Remember that your narrative rough draft is due Monday, 11/16/09, and the final draft is due Wednesday, 11/18/09. We will revise these in class on Tuesday.
This week we are going to spend a lot of time with our novel, Nothing but the Truth. Make sure to keep up with your reading and keep up with using your sticky notes! Remember the things to mark with sticky notes: important things happening in the plot, new characters or changes in characters, new settings or changes in setting, any questions you have while reading, predictions you make, connections you can make, or anything else that stands out to you. Remember to write yourself a quick note on each sticky note so that you know its significance.
We are also going to work through vocab lesson 6 this week. Plan on our next vocabulary quiz being on Monday, 11/23/09. This will cover lessons 4-6.
7th Grade:
Our next vocabulary quiz will be on Thursday, 11/19/09. It will cover lessons 4-6.
We are going to spend much of our class time this week on "The Miracle Worker." Remember to keep up with your reading and keep up with your sticky notes. This week we will be talking about the characters and acting out part of the reading in class.
8th Grade:
Spend some time looking at the 6th set of vocabulary words this weekend. We will be working with those and the next set (7) this week.
We are going to spend most of our time this week with our novel, Across Five Aprils. Make sure to keep up with your reading and keep up with using your sticky notes. This week we will talk specifically about the characters.
Make it a great week!
