REMINDERS     

• Monday, November 9: Field Trip permission slip and money due today!
• Monday-Friday: We will continue skills testing this week!  I will share all the areas of strength and areas that need practice with you at conferences on Nov. 19th or 20th. 
• Library Books: All books need to be returned by Tuesday each week.
• Snack: Send a napkin each day with their snack and juice! 

CLASS WORK:

• READING/LANGUAGE ARTS: Letter Jj

       This week we will make"Jingle, Jangle, Jar" book, learn a song(Jimmy Jack Jones), practice the sound for the letter, practice writing the letter (uppercase and lowercase) correctly and reading the story.

       Please practice reading the book they made, practice the sound for each letter and writing the letter correctly at home.

       Please practice the sight words each night.  Daily practice builds confidence, retention, and the ability to "See it and Say it".  We will send new words home each week.  Practice spelling them too!  Have them pick out the words in their own books as well as books they read. 

      We will be writing in our journals about things they have been doing or I will give them a prompt to write about!   

• MATH: Unit 2

       Numbers 0-5 - Practice writing the numbers correctly. 

       Ordinal Numbers - First, second, third, fourth and fifth

       Comparing sets and data - same, more, fewer, and graphing

       different sets and data. 

• SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES AND ART: 

      Art: leaves, Pilgrim boy or girl, Indian corn, canoe, tepee,

      papoose, totem pole, etc. 

      Science: weather, leaves, etc. 

      Social Studies: Pilgrims and Indians - The First Thanksgiving

      We will learn about the Pilgrim and Indian way of life, why

      the Pilgrims came to America, the trip on the Mayflower, the

      Indians and how they helped the Pilgrims, and the

      first Thanksgiving.  We will learn Indian sign language, Indian

      symbols, pick an Indian name, etc.  We will celebrate the end of

      the unit with a Thanksgiving feast dressed as Pilgims and

      Indians.         

• RELIGION: Forgiveness Is An Act Of Love

       We will learn that when we choose to do something we know is

       wrong we need to have a sense of sorrow and ask for

       forgiveness.  God and the people we hurt do not stop loving us

       because we did something wrong.  We are not bad persons but

       the deed is wrong and not what God wants us do.  We must show

       through our actions that we are truly sorry and will try to do

       better. 

       We will continue to practice our morning prayer, meal prayer and

       the Glory Be!  Please practice at home too!
