Social Studies this week: Students will work on an American symbols coloring book. The Unit 3 test will be on Thursday.

We are working on being attentive and participating during mass. Being attentive includes following along (sitting, kneeling, and standing) and listening. Right now, for participation, we are working on doing the sign of the cross, praying the Our Father, and responding when we can.
We are also learning about God's love for us!
We will be learning different religious songs in the classroom!
We are learning that there are different ways to pray!
Religion this week: Children will learn the story of David and Goliath and Joseph and his Brothers.
Writing
We are working on:
~ using illustrations to tell a story and writing sentences
~stretching out words
~leaving spaces between words and sentences
~capital letters at the beginning of every sentence
~punctuation marks at the end of every sentence
~writing a beginning, middle, and an end
Grammar this week: Students will learn about adjectives that compare (big, bigger, biggest).
Spelling
The spelling tests have 2 different skills, recognition and recall. The first six words have a spelling pattern: short or long vowel, blends, etc. The last four words are high frequency words, words that are often seen while reading.
