An Overview of Junior High Religion: The middle school religion program supplies a foundation of faith and morals by following a natural sequence. In 6th grade, students are made more aware of our Old Testament roots as chosen people of God. This properly sets them up to appreciate Jesus the Messiah which is the focus of 7th grade New Testament study. 8th grade recognizes that we are in the era of the Holy Spirit and the growth of the Church from Pentecost to now is considered. This curriculum, along with liturgy, prayer, and service helps students mature in many dimensions.
You, as parents, are the primary religion teachers for your children. Your zeal for knowing the Lord through scripture and prayer and your expression of faith through charity and service make strong impressions as your children become young adults.
