Events for the week of June 1,2009
Ms Benson would like you to know that the children's headphones will be passed on to the next grade.
Monday- June 1- Regular schedule of classes

Tuesday- June 1, 2009- No all school mass today.
Wednesday- Regular Schedule of classes

Thursday- June 4- Primary mass- church- 8:00 am- Please join us if you are able.

 Friday- June 5- Graduation
All school mass- 8:00am
Awards Ceremony- 10:00am- gym

Upcoming Events

Friday- June 5- Graduation- All School Mass- 8:00 am- Awards Ceremony- Assembly
Monday- June 8- Cleaning Day- We will be cleaning in the  morning. I could use a few helpers that day. Let me know if you could help that morning. We will host a lunch for both second grades that day.More to come on this later.
Tuesday- June 9- Field Trip to Pump It Up
Wednesday- June 10- Last Day of School- All School Mass- 8:00am- Dismissal at 11:00 for the summer!

Reading

The children will complete their reading book this week and take the final reading test. For the remaining two weeks the students will be reading trade books and completing independent reading contracts(all in school).




Spelling
The children took the final spelling test of the year on Friday, May 22. There will be no new spelling words for the rest of the year.

Math
Students will be tested on Chapter 22- subtracting 3-digit numbers with and without regrouping on Thursday this week. They will also be completing lessons on multiplication and division. Congratulations to the ten students who scored 86% or better on addition and subtraction.



70-100%-earns an S
50-70%-earns a P
Below 50% is an N



Religion
The children will complete and be tested on a chapter on prayer this week.
 
Science
We will begin work on Chapter 11- Forces and Machines

WRITER'S WORKSHOP
The children will organize their writing portfolio which will accompany them to their next class.
