Please Note:
-
Each section (3rd - 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th) has a link to a separate class page with internet games for the students to practice thematic vocabulary at home. The students ALWAYS have Spanish that they can practice at home!
Please use this site to see what your child is learning in Spanish, to download materials for review, and to communicate with me.
For Junior High Students: Assessments for each quarter address the three modes of communication--interpersonal (spontaneous conversation & dialogue), presentational (projects like skits, puppet shows, posters, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, etc.) and interpretive (reading & listening and responding orally or in writing). Performance goals are assessed at the end of each thematic unit and skills are assessed throughout the unit. Please see the performance goals for your child's current thematic unit of study. You also have access to my curriculum planning guide for each unit (located in the FILES section at the bottom of the page).
Spanish Homework Guidelines can be downloaded from the FILES section near the bottom of this class page.

Destination Imagination
PARENTS OF JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS:
Please visit this website to find out about Destination Imagination: http://www.idodi.org/
We would like to start a Destination Imagination program at St. Mary's this year and need your help to do so. If you are the kind of person that can motivate children to come up with their own creative solutions, then you are just who we need. If you are interested in being a facilitator for a group of students, please contact me. The Destination Imagination teams will be meeting at school on Thursdays (11:42-12:17) throughout the year, but students will need to meet at other times with their facilitators as they become immersed in their team challenge.
