Mrs. Guerino's K4 Classpage

Felicity did a Fabulous job with her Fancy letter "F". We were Fortunate that she did not Fail to include Fingers, Feet, Fudge, Frankenstein, and even Aunt Frances. She did not Falter when she presented her brothers Football. I have a Feeling this was a Family project. It was Flawless!
TOP DOG

Harry has to be dog tired after his big week. On Monday, Harry's mom helped present his poster. She also made cupcakes that looked like dogs. I forgot to take a picture of the cupcakes. They were Fa-Fa-Fabulous. On Tuesday, Harry's mom took Fa-Fa-Funny Fa-Fa-Face photos of the class. We put them in Fa-Fa-Frames and decorated them with Fa-Fa-Foam stickers.

On Wednesday, Aunt Jen surprised Harry in the parking lot on his way into school. She too read a story about a dog. Mr. Sosnay dropped off a tee-pee for the class to use this month.

The Top Dog got to nap in the tee-pee on the first day.

Being Top Dog makes you one tired little Indian. (Native American)

On Thursday, dad came in and read another dog story. He should have been a kindergarten teacher. He had great expression.

On Friday, Mrs. Sosnay and great grandma came in and made dog puppets with the class.

They even brought dog biscuits to eat while we worked.

I don't know about you great grandma, but I too am dog tired! ! !

THIS IS MY FA-FA-FAVORITE UNIT OF STUDY-------THE OLDEN DAYS
We have a busy month ahead. Our unit this month will focus on the "Olden Days". It promises to provide some interesting learning experiences. We plan to incorporate cultural awareness as well as strengthening a link with the older generation.
We will need your help with an important letter writing activity this month. We would like to send a letter to the children's grandparents or other older relative or friend, asking them to respond with a short letter sharing a holiday memory from their childhood. This memory can be of Thanksgiving or Christmas. Look for this special letter in their take-home folder this week. Please send this letter to one grandparent or relative whom you think might enjoy participating in this activity. The children will enjoy receiving mail at school and will be enriched by this activity in many ways. Please have the letter sent to school ASAP. If you've done this letter with another child in my class, a recycled letter would be fine.
IT'S "G" WEEK!
Garrett will present the letter "G" with a lot of Ga-Ga-Gusto!
We will be talking about how Ga-Ga-God made everything. The class will begin to make a book about creation. Hopefully, we will finish this book in a timely matter.
We are making a shape Ga-Ga-Goose. Watch for it to fly down the hall with our other harvest time items.
On Friday, I would like all my "Cheesehead" students to wear "Ga-Ga-Green" and "Ga-Ga-Gold" to school for Packer Day in K4. We will make a rather interesting hat that day. Viking fans are allowed to stay home.
This week, we will continue to practice #'s 1-5 and their rhymes. Ask your child to recite the rhymes for you. These really seem to help with the formation of the numbers.
Hopefully you've all found the time to send your letter to an older relative or friend. I will read one or two letters to the class each day as soon as they arrive at school. Remind grandma that 4 year olds can't sit very long soooo make the letters short. I'll send the letters home after reading them. I'm sure you'll treasure these for years to come. I love this project! ! !
I sent a turkey project home this week. I hope this seems like a fun family project---not more work to do. Send it back anytime before Thanksgiving vacation. I posted these in the school hallway last year. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the creativity. Don't stress over this.

REMINDERS
Snow is coming soon. Please check all your outerwear to see if it still fits. Every year I have to try and fit a few of last years boots on feet. It doesn't work. Have your children practice dressing ALL BY THEMSELVES. This year, without an aide, they will have to wait a lot longer for help dressing. This can result in crabby 4 year olds waiting to play in the snow. Remember to label all outerwear. BRING ON THE SNOW! ! ! !
Throughout the month we will be talking about our Native Americans and the Pilgrims. We will place a big emphasis on being thankful for our many blessings.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call, e-mail, or stop in after school.
