Open House was a great sucess.  It was exciting to see all the smiling faces.  If you did not bring in all your supplies in for open house, please be sure to send them in the first week of school.  It is very important that I have your paper work as soon as possible as well.

Thursday Folders will begin going home on September 2nd.  Please look through all the information that is included, sign the update sheet, and return the folder on Friday. 

We will have Show and Tell on Friday this week.  (usually it will be on Tuesdays)  The theme this week will be: summer.  Please help your child select something that reminds them of what they did this summer.

We will be going to the computer lab as soon as it is up and running.  Centers will begin on September 17th.

Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered to help out in the classroom and in other ways.  I will be contacting you soon.  Please remember that anyone who helps out in the classroom, needs to have virtus training.  Please see the link below to find out when and where classes are being offered.  Also, I apologize for the misprint on the volunteer form.  Computers will be on Tuesday from 10:30-11:00 and Thursday 10:20-10:50.

Recess will be at 11:00 and 1:30 everyday.  We are scheduled to eat lunch at approximately 11:30 each day.

Rest time: the children are allowed to bring in one stuffed animal, small pillow, or blanket for rest time.  These items will be kept in their lockers during the day.

Mass days: Our normal mass days will be Friday, however, we will sometimes have All School Mass on Tuesdays.  Please be sure to check the calendar.  Our first mass will be Tuesday, September 6th.  Shorts are not allowed on mass days.  If it is still hot out, they may bring a pair of shorts to change into after mass.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Book Bags will begin going home on Wednesday, September 8th.  Please take the time to read the note enclosed in your child's book bag.  Your child should "read" the book to you, pointing to the words as they are reading.  The first few books will have picture clues, as we start to learn more words, there will be fewer picture clues.

Word Rings will begin on Friday, September 10th.  Each child will begin with the letters and add on as they are mastered.  Therefore, each child will have a different set of letters and words depending on their level.

Our first field trip will be September 29th.  More info to come home soon!
