SECOND GRADE NEWS
Working Together For Success
November 16-19
We are excited about our Field Trip
to Timber-Lee. Thank you to all
of you who volunteered to chaperone.
We wish we could take you all.
Mrs. Kuehnke and Mrs. Thomsen
will be joining us. Thank you!
RELIGION

We are completing our flip charts as we
continue to go through the steps of Reconciliation.
In our new chapter we read the story about
Moses and the Ten Commandments.
Thank you to the 2nd Graders who led us
in Morning Prayer and the Pledge this week!
You all did a wonderful job!
Father Bob came to our class for a visit.
He talked to us about Reconciliation.
*First Reconciliation - -
Saturday, December 5.
LANGUAGE ARTS

This week we read the stories The Old Gollywampus and Snakes.
We learned a lot of interesting information
about snakes. We are using what we
learned to write a poem about snakes.
This week we are working with
irregular plural nouns.
We are also beginning to write a paragraph about
what Christmas means to us.
The vocabulary and high frequency words for Unit 2
are now on the flash cards.
MATH

This week we worked on a partner activity
with our base 10 blocks. We also worked on
gathering information and graphing our results.
We worked in small groups to create a question
we would ask the class. We then sorted our data
and put it into a graph.
Please continue to practice the flash cards on our
web page.
SCIENCE

We have been working on our Food Group
posters and they are looking great!
As we work on them, we are learning which
foods we need to eat more of to keep us
healthy and strong.
Flash cards for Science vocabulary are now on our website.
