LET’S READ!
Students from grades K-6 have been busy reading to join the 600-minute club.
Ninety students logged 600 minutes of reading for pleasure and will receive tickets to Six Flags Theme Park.
Congratulations to all of our great readers!
Our Middle School students are busy reading books for the Battle of the Books.
They have formed teams of four or five members and will read from a list of twenty books.
They will then compose ten questions about each of the books they read.
A battle will be held in April shortly after Easter.
Two winning teams will move on to compete in the district battle to be held at St. Francis School in Lake Geneva this year.
March is the time to celebrate Dr. Seuss.
Last week students had the opportunity to guess how many colorful fish crackers were in a jar. Amy, from Mrs. Kutsch’s second grade class, guessed 586.
The actual amount was 588 fish. Amy won the Dr. Seuss book, If I Ran the Circus, and will also take home the jar of Goldfish Colors crackers. Congratulations to Amy. Students also have the opportunity to answer trivia questions posted outside the library and also to guess the name of the Dr. Seuss character displayed each week in the library.
Dr. Seuss promotes literacy and reading – let’s all join in the fun!
Mrs. Coppernoll
