6^th Grade Weekly Letter

Information for the week of 11/9-1/13

Math:

We will be taking a test on chapter 3 on basic algebra Tuesday the 10^th. Your student has a copy of the study guide that has a sample of each type of problem that will be on the test.

Social Studies:

We will be having a test on Egypt, chapter 3, on Thursday the 12^th. Students will get a study guide on Monday. They should be sure they have clear, understandable notes on each topic that is on the study guide. They may use their notes on the test.

Reading:

We will be starting unit 5 on Tuesday the 10^th. The next test will be on the following Tuesday.

As a whole class we will be reading The lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Your student will have question about the story to answer every week.

English:

Our first writing assignment will be due Tuesday, November 10^th.   During the 2^nd quarter we will work on character development and setting, as well as trying our hand at a piece of persuasive writing.

Tuesday, November 10:                Writing Assignment Due

Wednesday, November 11:           Adjective Test (students have a study guide we created together in class)

Science:

 This week we are finishing up our dirt project. We will be researching and sharing our findings.

Religion:  

We are going to begin chapter 4.
