Mrs. Butler
Grade 1

November 19, 2009
Subjects
Math--We are learning to tell time to the half hour. We practice on our paper clocks. We also continue to practice counting money. We have been talking about dimes and how to exchange them for nickels and pennies.
Phonics--We are writing sentences that Mrs. Butler dictates to us. Many of the words have short vowel sounds. It is good practice.
Religion--We are learning about creation and God's goodness. We have so much to be thankful for!
Congratulations!
We won an ice cream party for turning in our library books on time!
Thanks for the treat, Mrs. Coppernoll! It was yummy!
Upcoming
Soon we will be reading the prayers for morning announcements. We will be bringing sheets home to practice.
On December 3rd, our class will be doing the readings for mass. We are excited about that. Mass parts will come home next week.
Tidbits
We like our new behavior plan called "Behavior Bucks." Many of us try very hard to keep our money by following the rules and working quietly. We still earn "gotcha" cards, too. We are very proud when we get one!
