Our first graders did a fantasic job at our All Saints Day mass!  Everyone practiced so hard!  I am so proud!  Here is what we can look forward to in the month of November: 

Our webpage will be updated at least once a month.  New flashcards for our current units and added important dates to the calendar that may be helpful will be added shortly.  Our class newsletters will also be attached under the files each Thursday.

Classroom Rules:

 

            1. Respect yourself and others.

            3. Listen carefully when someone is talking.

            4. Keep all hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

            5. Use inside voices.

            6. Walk quietly in the hall.

            7.  Have fun!

 

Specialist: This may help in deciding appropriate clothing for the day.   During sandal season, please make sure that you child has a pair of socks to put on with his/her gym shoes.   For those who may not have sent a pair, stay at school gym shoes are required.

 "Star of the Week": Throughout the year students will have the chance to be our class "Star" for the week.   This is an opportunity for each of my students to have a week of special recognition and for the class to get to know him/her better.   A week before, a bag will come home with your child.   This bag will contain a letter with more details!   See the list below for your child's week.

                Scholastic Book Orders:Our first book orders will come home at the end of the month.  Keep an eye out!  We received 5 new books last month from your orders on-line!  Thank you.  You can send your order in to me or you can order online!  To order on-line, you will need to go to the Web address below and enter our class’s personalized user name and password.   Plus, every month parents order on line through our personalized user name our class gets to pick a new book!

Homework Assignments (Check box to include this section when classpage is printed:) 


*Reading: Your child will soon bring home a Reading Folder.  
          More information to come!

*Math: A Homelinks sheet will be sent home daily(excluding most 
       Fridays) and is always due the next school day.  This should 
       take only 10 to 15 minutes to complete.  Please let me know
       if your child struggles with the math homework.  

*Spelling: Mondays we will type up our spelling list, which the 
           students then will bring home to practice.  Formal 
           spelling tests will be given at the end of the week 
           (usually on Fridays).  

**Homework in Social Studies, Religion, and Science may occur a 
  few times through the year.  

*Assignment Notebooks: Please take the time to look at your child's
                       assignment notebook each night.  When homework
                       is completed please sign at the bottom and 
                       return with your child each day.  I will also
                       use the assignment notebook for a way to 
                       communication with home.  Please feel free to 
                       leave me a note in the assignment notebook!
